Island Getaway Rentals underwent a comprehensive responsive website redesign and a minor brand refresh to enhance its overall user experience.

THE CHALLENGE
The original state of the vacation booking website proved to be outdated and overwhelming for users due to the excessive text and confusing organization. To address these challenges and facilitate user navigation and booking processes, a website redesign was imperative.
USER JOURNEYS
Our analysis of the Island Getaway site identified two primary user pathways. The first involved users seeking to book rentals for their vacation stays, while the second involved property owners looking to list their rentals on the site. However, achieving these goals on the existing website posed difficulties due to information overload and an unclear booking flow.
To tackle these issues, we implemented effective strategies such as establishing clear information hierarchies, incorporating search functionality with advanced filters to expedite user searches, and maintaining consistent branding elements throughout the website.
BRAND REFRESH
In addition to the website redesign, a minor brand refresh was undertaken to enhance user navigation. This involved selecting a mobile-friendly font and testing and adjusting the original brand colors to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements.
PROTOTYPE AND FINAL DESIGN
Through the implementation of a robust information hierarchy, the incorporation of helpful tools such as filtered searches, and the maintenance of a consistent brand identity, users were guided seamlessly through the vacation rental booking process, resulting in improved user satisfaction and engagement.
