THE CHALLENGE

The clientele of Golf Experiences expressed dissatisfaction with the existing telephone-only booking system. They sought a convenient solution that would enable them to effortlessly access information regarding available tee times and locations, eliminating the need for cumbersome phone inquiries. Ideally, they aspired to complete the entire booking process conveniently and seamlessly online.

RESEARCH, IDEATION, AND WIREFRAMES

Following a consultation with the client regarding the initial project requirements, our team convened to conduct a detailed analysis of user journeys, assess the development team's capabilities, and estimate the project timeline. Given the utilization of preexisting data and systems for the booking flow, we deliberated on the essential search and filter functionalities that would be both user-friendly and feasible for our development team to implement. Once we obtained satisfactory answers to our technical inquiries, our focus shifted towards identifying the required screens within the user journey booking flow and subsequently crafting wireframes for them.

PROBLEM SOLVING

During the process of developing the high-fidelity prototype, we observed a potential issue regarding the Mastercard branding incorporated within the booking flow. Specifically, users transitioning from other websites affiliated with Golf Experiences might encounter confusion or ambiguity. To address this concern, we took proactive measures by introducing a popup at the initial stage of the flow. This popup serves the purpose of guiding and orienting users who originate from alternative entry points, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.

FINAL DESIGN

Following the completion of the booking flow prototype, we proceeded to present it to the client, allowing them to provide valuable feedback. In response to their input, we received requests for the inclusion of supplementary features, notably the integration of tags to emphasize golf courses offering special deals. Once the client granted their approval on the designs, we promptly forwarded them to the development team for implementation. Unfortunately, after a few weeks, the progress on this project was temporarily halted due to budgetary constraints arising from COVID-19-related concerns.
